Sofiya Doroshenko wins 1st Prize in fOUR international piano competitions!
For immediate release, April 2024…
See how Sofiya became an amazing competitor and pianist as such a young age!
Our incredible piano student Sofiya Doroshenko started playing the piano at the age of five, demonstrating a great passion for music. Sofiya’s first competition was the International Music Competition in Ukraine in 2015. As the youngest to enter, she was able to participate, but not allowed to actually compete.
Sofiya moved to the United States in August 2015 and started to take piano lessons just six months later here at The Ridgewood Conservatory with our senior instructor, pianist Ron Levy. Soon thereafter, she placed third in her first piano competition in the U.S., the American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition. In the 2018-2019 season, Sofiya has won First Prize in the Crescendo International Music Competition, the Brussels Grand Prize “Virtuoso” International Music Competition and the International Music Competition Venice “Grand Prize Virtuoso.” <In April 2024, Sofiya won First Prize in the "Vienna" Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition.
Returning to competition post-pandemic in April 2024, Sofiya won the Vienna Grand Prize “Virtuoso” International Music Competition.
Our heartfelt congratulations to Sofiya for her outstanding success. We know this is just the beginning of an amazing musical journey!
