ACTING WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS AND TEENS!

TAUGHT BY AWARD-WINNING ACTRESS STEPHANIE DULLI
INTRO TO THEATER (AGES 4-6)
A great introductory class for younger children, our Intro to Theater Workshop was created by Stephanie Dulli to expand your child’s naturally creative imagination. Through improvisational games and songs, our youngest student performers will learn how to be confident on stage while having great fun acting! This class will focus on teaching mind and body control, language development and imaginative play, as well as familiarizing students with beginning stage terms.
YOUNG ACTORS WORKSHOP (ages 7-10)
As our budding actors develop the ability to memorize lines, Stephanie Dulli’s Young Actors Workshop will take them to that next step in developing their acting skills. Beginning with age-appropriate acting exercises and games, and culminating in a performance of short scenes, this class is designed to have your young thespian feeling like a Broadway star!
ACTING WORKSHOP (AGES 11-14)
Stephanie Dulli’s Acting Workshop is designed to encourage your pre-teen or younger teen actor’s creativity by introducing intermediate acting exercises and games. Students will learn improvisational skills and enjoy their first real taste of scene study. A wonderful thing about our workshop for this age is that all levels of acting experience are welcome! This class will end with a showcase of one well-known production such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid and other delightful plays or films.
SKETCH COMEDY AND IMPROV (AGES 14-18)
Do you have the next star of Saturday Night Live? In Stephanie Dulli’s Sketch Comedy and Improv Workshop, students will learn the structure of improv and sketch comedy. They will also learn to write and perform their own sketches! Live from New Jersey, it’s The Ridgewood Conservatory!
ADVANCED ACTING WORKSHOPS FOR TEENS!

TAUGHT BY ACTOR-DIRECTOR STEPHEN INNOCENZI
ADVANCED ACTING: SCENE STUDY AND MONOLOG (AGES 12-18)
In Stephen Innocenzi’s Advanced Acting Workshop our more serious teen actors will be taught to inhabit a performance and a performing space. The fundamentals of Breath, Focus, Character, and Intention will be introduced and strengthened. Actors will be trained in the techniques that will render them both “watchable” and” listenable.” They will learn how to give an audience access to themselves and the intentions they are playing, how to move effectively on stage, and how to play correctly, both physically and vocally, to the size of the performance space. Together, we will explore the questions that must be asked and answered in order to understand the intention of the piece being performed. Students will learn how breath and intention create and unlock believable and compelling emotional life onstage, and how to paint a character using the medium of their own instrument. In addition, they will learn the craft involved in rehearsal and the reading and speaking of text coupled with stage blocking, and they will experience both the art of the monolog and the art of scene study.
PERFORMING FOR MUSICAL THEATER (ages 12-18)
In Stephen Innocenzi’s Performing for Musical Theater Workshop, our singing actors will learn how to create, rehearse and perform pieces of musical theater art. They will hone their voices and bodies through a wide variety of techniques designed to expand the range and the clarity of their musical presentations. Performers will develop an awareness of vocal production, personal space and character-specific vocal and creative movement choices. Our goal is for our performers to learn the language, both verbal and physical, of performing on stage. We will explore basic techniques from all genres of theater movement and theater singing. Our mounted musical theater pieces will then be performed at the end of the semester.
SONG AS MONOLOG (AGES 12-18)
Great vocalists have ‘presence,’ thought by many to be a mystical, magical thing, but in reality, presence is the result of specific and strongly executed technique. In Stephen Innocenzi’s Song As Monologue Workshop, our vocalists will learn techniques to command presence both on stage or in front of the camera. They will learn how to make strong choices that will best result in compelling performances and how to make the song the star. We will explore together the questions that must be asked and answered in order to understand the intention of the song being performed. Our young performers will discover how to draw an audience in and then transport an audience using the fundamental techniques of Breath, Focus, Character, and Intention. The result of this training will be a truthful foundation, rooted in the intention of the song, on which to showcase the vocal talents of the performer.
