Award-winning pianist Hyanghyun Lee joins our TRC faculty!

Pianist Hyanghyun Lee has wide range of performance credits including piano solo, art songs, chamber music, opera and musical theater.

Hyanghyun has performed across the globe from St. Petersburg in Russia and Seoul in South Korea, to New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles in the United States.  Her accolades include winner of the Estonia Academy of Music and Theatre-Music Competition, winner of the International Joseph Hayden Competition, finalist of the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra Piano Concerto Competition, and art song duo semi-finalist of the International Vocal Competition in the Netherlands. As a collaborative pianist, she also participated in the Songfest Festival in Los Angeles and in the Toronto Summer Music Festival.

Hyanghyun Lee first earned her Bachelor of Music degree at Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul, South Korea, and later earned her Master of Music at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. She then completed a Postgraduate Collaborative Piano Fellowship at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, where she perfected her sight-reading skills through countless auditions with vocal and instrumental students. After her Fellowship at Bard College, Hyanghyun continued to perform and compete as a Collaborative Pianist in South Korea and Europe. Most recently, she has been employed as an accompanist at the Thurnauer School of Music in Tenafly, and holds an appointment as the pianist at Pro Arte Chorale in Ridgewood.
