Kieran Corcoran and Ryan Yu Claim Top National Honors in 2019!

For immediate release, October 2019...

We are so proud to announce that both KIERAN CORCORAN and RYAN YU will join the “best of the best” for the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) 2019 All-National Honor Ensembles next month in Orlando, Florida.

Kieran won 1st Chair Alto Saxophone in the Concert Band, and Ryan won 1st Chair Trumpet in the Symphony Orchestra. This is the highest honor bestowed on high school musicians in the United States – and the very first year that TWO students from The Ridgewood Conservatory have won First Chairs in the All-National Honor Ensembles!

Why is this such a big deal? The All-National Honor Ensembles performers represent collaboration and creativity in its highest musical form. Eligible students were accepted to their state-level honor ensemble program and competed against top students throughout the United States for a spot in these national honor ensembles.

Kieran, a senior at Ridgewood High School, has been studying saxophone with Lou Caimano for more than seven years and plays both alto and tenor saxophone. Ryan, who has spent over three years studying trumpet with Rick Henly, is currently a junior at Northern Highlands Regional High School.

We congratulate both of these outstanding young musicians on their incredibly well-deserved success!
