Pianist Karen Dalley joins our faculty!

Pianist Karen Dalley has enjoyed a multi-faceted career as a teacher and as a soloist and collaborative pianist performing in local performance venues.

Over the years, Karen has served on the Piano faculties at many leading conservatories in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area, including Hoff Barthelson School of Music, the New School for Music Study, Rutgers Community Arts, and Westminster Conservatory of Music. During her fellowship with American University’s Arts Administration Program in Washington, DC, she co-directed a countywide adult group piano program with 60 adult students, and has created curricula for group piano and group music theory courses for Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and Westminster. While training and teaching at the New School for Music Study, Karen coauthored “Planning for Progressive Growth in the Intermediate Years,” proceedings of the National Conference of Keyboard Pedagogy, in press, presented at National Conference.

Karen holds a Bachelors in Piano Performance degree from the University of Michigan. Her many training and teaching certifications include K-12 Music, Music Makers at the Keyboard, Conversational Solfege, and Dalcroze. She has adjudicated for New Jersey Music Teacher’s Association, New York State School Music Association, Piano Teachers’ Congress, NYSSMA and more. Her own students have received highest honors with the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program, Golden Key Music Festival and other juried events.

We are so delighted that Karen Dalley is now passing on the practice and love of classical music to our piano students here at The Ridgewood Conservatory.
