Congratulations to TRC alum, saxophonist Kieran Corcoran!

Kudos to The Ridgewood Conservatory alumnus and saxophonist extraordinaire, Kieran Corcoran, who performed at the Peabody Institute in Baltimore MD as a member of the CBDNA-E intercollegiate band (College Band Directors National Association – Eastern Division Conference) on February 19, 2022. Kieran is currently a sophomore studying at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester MA where he plays in both the wind ensemble and the jazz band, and is their first student ever to be accepted to participate in such a prestigious event.

Prior to attending college, Kieran won numerous musical honors, including Region 1 and All-State Wind Ensembles as a high school junior and senior, and Music Educators of Bergen County Inc. (MEBCI) honors for six straight years. In 2019 he was principal First Chair alto saxophone in the All-National Honor Ensemble Concert Band of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). In 2020, Kieran was named as the recipient of the Roland L. Meyer Scholarship Award by the Orpheus Club Men’s Chorus.

While a student here at The Ridgewood Conservatory School for the Performing Arts, Kieran studied both alto and tenor saxophone with our Director, Louis Caimano, for more than eight years, and played soprano in The Conservatory’s Saxophone Quartet. We are so proud of this truly amazing young musician’s many accomplishments, and delighted that he has continued to be involved with music as an undergraduate at Holy Cross!
