Please welcome our new violinist, Ellie Sturrock!
Violinist Ellie Sturrock has more than 20 years of experience teaching students of all ages and levels at various music schools, universities and academies, from the youngest Suzuki beginners through professional-level musicians.
As a performing artist versatile in a wide range of musical genres, Ellie has performed and collaborated with such well-known orchestras and artists as the Los Angeles Philharmonic; various members of the New York Philharmonic; former Music Director of the New York Philharmonic, Alan Gilbert; internationally acclaimed conductor, Leonard Slatkin; the award-winning composer, John Williams; famed songwriter and folk-singer, the late John Denver; British songwriter and lead singer of the rock band the Who, Roger Daltry; classical pianist Joyce Yang; and Victor Goines and members of Jazz at Lincoln Center. Ellie has also participated in numerous music festivals including Encore, National Music Academy at Interlochen, Aspen Music Festival, Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, and Schloss Pommersfelden, Germany. As the Founder and Director of Zion Entertainment, she has produced concerts at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Bergen PAC, Merkin Concert Hall, and Miller Theater at Columbia University.
Ellie Sturrock holds a Bachelors of Music degree in Violin Performance from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and a Masters of Music degree in Violin Performance from the University of Michigan’s School of Music.
A talented violinist and a warm, caring teacher, Ellie is a welcome addition to our string faculty here at The Ridgewood Conservatory!
