On-Site COVID19 Safety Procedures

The Ridgewood Conservatory will open for a limited number of on-site private lessons as well as online lessons for the foreseeable future. We are committed to doing everything we can to help ensure the health and safety of our students, faculty, families and staff while COVID19 remains a concern.

ON-SITE / ONLINE LESSONS: Instrumental, voice and acting lessons will be offered both ON-SITE and/or online. *
Faculty and students may choose the option that best meets their needs and preferences. Please note that all ON-SITE voice, woodwind and brass instrument lessons will be conducted only with these safety measures:
• Voice students may be required to pre-purchase recommended face masks for singers, and expected to sanitize them between lessons.
• Woodwinds and brass students may be required to pre-purchase special masks for wind players and bell covers for their instruments and are expected to keep those washed between lessons.
• Voice, woodwind and brass students must be fully vaccinated to study on-site or may choose to study online.

FACE MASKS: EVERYONE entering the building must be wearing a mask that fully covers the mouth and nose. Masks must remain in place for the entire time you are in The Conservatory.
• Fully vaccinated adults and students may opt to present a copy of their vaccination cards at the front desk which will remain on file for the semester. With the individual instructor’s permission, vaccinated adults and students may remove their masks ONLY while in their instructor’s studio.
• Please do not forget to bring your mask with you. The Conservatory will have a supply of masks at the door for emergency situations.

COVID19 GUIDELINES, TEMPERATURE CHECK and HAND SANITIZER: ALL ON-SITE adult students and parents/guardians of younger students will be required to sign our COVID19 Liability Waiver and abide by our COVID19 Self-Assessment Guidelines.
• EVERYONE entering The Conservatory will be required to stop at the front door for a temperature check.
If anyone has a temperature of 99.9 degrees or higher, that person and anyone accompanying them will not be permitted to enter The Conservatory.
• A complete list of COVID19 Self-Assessment Guidelines will be posted at the front door.
• Hand sanitizer dispensers will be available at the front door to our suite and in each studio. We ask everyone to carefully sanitize their hands before entering, and before leaving the instructor’s studio.

ADDITIONAL SANITIZING and SAFETY MEASURES: We ask that everyone help to keep us all safe from infection.
• Each teaching studio will have a professional-grade Medify Air Purifier in use during lessons. Our dual H13 HEPA filter air purifiers are chosen for their powerful performance, and clean the air in each space continually.
• Pianos or other instruments used for teaching will be sanitized by the teacher in between each lesson.
• Each teacher will open the studio door for student entrance and exit. Students should not touch door handles.
• Restrooms are designated for use only by students and accompanying parents/caregivers and staff.
• Waiting areas, teaching studios and restrooms will be cleaned and disinfected daily.

ACCOMPANYING YOUNGER STUDENTS: Only ONE adult may accompany a student into the building, escort the student to their teacher’s studio, and wait in designated areas. No other adults or children will be permitted in the building.
• If it is necessary to have siblings or other guests with you, you will be asked to wait in your car in the parking lot, and to provide a cell phone number where you can be immediately reached.
• Socially distanced seating for parents and caregivers waiting for a student during the lesson time will be available in the reception area only.
• Seating for parents with young students will be provided in each studio.

Thank you for assisting us in providing a safe environment for our ON-SITE students, guests and staff!
