Please welcome pianist Linda Decker back to The Conservatory!

Pianist Linda Decker has dedicated the last 30-plus years to imparting the joy of music to students of all ages. With a strong belief that music can change lives for the better, she equips her students with the performance, composition and theoretical skills that will help them excel.

In addition to performing regularly as a soloist, Linda has worked extensively throughout the tri-state area as a professional accompanist for vocalists and musicians. As an educator, Linda taught music in the Ho-Ho-Kus and Rahway public schools before becoming the Director of Musically Yours School of Music where she developed curriculum to teach piano, voice, music theory and music history as well as maintaining an active teaching schedule of her own. For many years, she was a member of the faculty of the Phoenix Center working with students with multiple disabilities including autism.

Early in her career, Linda was the recipient of the Mary Williams Belcher Scholarship. Linda has since won First Place in the Music Educators Council (MEC) Competition, and First Place in the Piano Teacher Society of America’s National Recording Competition – both of which culminated in her highly-acclaimed performances in Carnegie Hall. She holds a Certificate in Piano Performance from Mannes College of Music, a Master of Arts degree from The University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Kean University, is a member of the Association of American Educators and is affiliated with the Music Educators National Conference.

An accomplished pianist and a delightful, caring teacher, Linda has always been a wonderful addition to our piano faculty. We are so delighted to welcome her back to The Ridgewood Conservatory!
