Sofiya Doroshenko’s Carnegie Hall Debut!

Congratulations to 10-year-old Sofiya Doroshenko on her beautiful piano performance of Clementi’s Sonatina in C Major in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall on April 22, 2017. Joining other finalists in the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition 2017 recital, Sofiya won third place in the piano competition. Taking applicants from 19 different countries, the American Protégé competition was designed to find and promote the up and coming generation of professional musicians.

Sofiya is the current recipient of The Ridgewood Conservatory’s Kathryn Zetto Memorial Scholarship for outstanding musical potential. A fifth-grader from Mahwah, Sofiya has been taking lessons with piano virtuosi Ron Levy since April 2016. An amazing young woman, Sofiya has repeatedly shown an intense dedication to her craft. It is truly a joy it is to have her as a valued member of our musical community here at The Ridgewood Conservatory.
