Dr. Lara Mitofsky Neuss is TRC’s new Admissions Manager!

Dr. Lara Mitofsky Neuss comes to The Ridgewood Conservatory with a strong and diverse background in education, performance, and administration. She recently earned her Doctor of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from Florida State University, and holds a Master of Music degree from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

As an educator, “Dr. Lara” has taught private clarinet lessons to students of all levels, and conducted master classes both across the United States and in Sweden in performance, audio engineering and improvisation. While earning her D.M., she was a graduate teaching assistant for the Florida State University’s clarinet studio. Similarly, she was a graduate teaching assistant in both clarinet and administration at Colorado State University while studying for her M.M.

As a clarinetist, recent performances have brought Lara to the Third Practice Electroacoustic Festival, Americans for the Arts, SPLICE Electroacoustic Festival, American Single Reed Summit, Bang on a Can Music Festival, and Banff Center for the Arts.

And as an administrator, Lara is currently the Clarinet Program Manager for the New Works Project, and the Digital Marketing Coordinator for Arts Laureate and the Tönsehen Record Label. In 2016, she co-founded the Junior Lift Clarinet Academy, a summer intensive program designed for students ages 13 -18. Lara is also a recording engineer for Arts Laureate, and over the past year has edited and mixed over 100 virtual ensembles.

We are so pleased that Dr. Lara Mitofsky Neuss has joined our staff here at The Ridgewood Conservatory as our new Admissions Manager. Her considerable musical expertise and broad range of professional experience make her the perfect complement to our performing arts school as we continue to provide the highest quality of music education to our students.
